🚀 Getting Started Without a Contact File
While starting with a contact file is ideal and necessary to use our Map view, Qomon makes it possible to canvass and mobilize without one.
🤔 How It Works
You can create a canvassing action by turf cutting and selecting the option for "Selected area". This setting allows your teams to access a walk list of addresses within the chosen area to visit, even if you don’t have preloaded contact details.
Here’s how to set it up:
Head over to your 'Actions' tab.
Define the geographic area you want to canvass with the turf cut tool.
Select the "Target the selected contacts only" option.
Follow the prompted steps to create a canvassing action.
Your team will receive a walk list of addresses in the area to visit on their mobile app. Read here to see what canvassing looks like on your mobile app.
📈 Why starting without a file can be beneficial:
Grow Your Database: Build your contact list from scratch by meeting new people.
Immediate Action: No need to wait for a pre-existing list—start organizing today.
Organic Connection: Engage directly with individuals in your community.
☝️ Things to consider:
Less Precision: Without an existing list, canvassing is less targeted as you go building-to-building or house-to-house.
Minimal Information: You won’t have details like names or contact information upfront.
Limited Features: The map view is unavailable when starting without a contact file. Read here for more information on List vs. Map view.
💫 Why It’s Unique to Qomon
Unlike many other platforms, Qomon empowers you to hit the ground running without needing an imported list. While this approach has limitations, it offers a flexible way to begin organizing and connecting with people immediately.
