🏠 What is a door-to-door canvassing action?

A door-to-door action is created by your organization to get volunteers out into the community, engaging with people right at their homes.


📲 How does this look on a mobile phone?

When volunteers are assigned to a canvassing action, they will see:

  1. Notification under their HQ tab: See the actions you've been assigned to, and head to your Actions tab. You'll see the action’s details (date, time, etc.) and an option to mark attendance.

  2. Start the action: Volunteers can begin by sliding the button to the right.

  3. Walk list or map view: Displays the addresses of contacts to visit (the knocks correspond to a file in your contact database), choose your preferred view.


🔄 List and Map View Options

Qomon offers flexible viewing options for canvassing:

  • List View: View assigned contacts or locations in a straightforward list format.

  • Map View: Visualize your canvassing area and locations on a map for easier navigation (reminder: map view consumes more battery than list view).


📲 What Happens During Canvassing?

  1. Arrive at a specific address and select the contact: The first question asks whether the person is: Present, Absent, or Refuses to speak.

  2. If Present and with consent: The survey will appear automatically, allowing the volunteer to begin collecting responses.

  3. Collect valuable information: If the discussion goes well, register contact details such as email or phone number. This information is critical for your HQ and the success of your cause.


📲 Wrapping Up the Interaction

Once you have finished speaking with the contact, you will have the option to "add follow up" information. The "next steps" options are for contacts that really hit it off!

  1. Add follow-up information: After the discussion, volunteers can add follow-up details, such as the contact’s level of support or assign tasks under the "Next steps" option.

  2. Seize the opportunity! Once you've indicated which next steps to take, that information will be sent directly to HQ. Updates are sent directly to HQ both instantly and securely.
