💻 Creating a Canvassing Action

There are two main ways to set up canvassing in Qomon:

Using your contact database: Assign addresses from your existing contact list.
By geographical area: Useful if you don’t have pre-imported contacts. This method generates a street list, letting you add new contacts directly via the app.

👊 From the "Actions" tab

Navigate to Actions > + Create Action and select "Canvassing."
Choose your canvassing zone: select streets, cities, or draw an area on the map.
Decide what contacts/zone to include in your walk-list:
- Selected Area: Includes contacts in your database and areas with no contacts. Add or update contacts via the app.
- My Selected Contacts: Targets only contacts/addresses already in your database. Update any existing contacts directly from the Qomon app.
- Streets Without Contacts: Focuses on areas not covered by your contact database. Your members will be able to create new contacts directly on the Qomon app.

Click on the "Maps" tab in the menu on the left-hand side of your screen.

Select an area that you'd like to initiate a canvassing action. (You can choose to select the contacts in the area or simply the list of streets).
Click on "Actions" > “Create Action” > and then select “Canvassing.”

On the left-hand side of the screen, you'll find the "Contacts" tab.

You can filter your contact base according to various criteria (such as territory and age). You can add any filter you like to refine your door-to-door campaign.
Once you've selected a part of your database, click on "Action" and "Create an action" to enter the action creation tunnel!

Once you have selected how to add your contacts to your action, you can:

Pick a name and a photo for your event, and don’t forget to add a description! Give your volunteers the scoop on what the event’s all about and why it matters - it’ll help get them excited and ready to canvass.
Set a meeting spot or starting point so everyone knows where to gather. A clear location keeps things organized and makes sure everyone is on the same page!
In your Action Settings, lock in the start and end dates, choose an action leader, and add in any extra info like talking points, helpful links, or your Qomon survey.
Last but not least, assign your users and teams to the canvassing action either manually or with AI! This way, everyone knows their role, and you’ll be all set for a smooth, efficient event.
And you're finished! Once you hit 'Create your action', the assigned users will receive a push notification along with an email, and be able to access the action from their mobile app.
