🌐 What is a Domain Name?

A domain name is a unique address used to identify a specific resource on the Internet, such as a website, mail server, or other online services.

For example, in our case, "Qomon" = Qomon.com is our domain name.

Why is changing DNS configuration important?

Proper DNS configuration ensures that your online services, like Qomon, run smoothly and securely. It proves to email providers like Gmail, Outlook, and Yahoo that your emails are legitimate and not spam or phishing attempts.

This ensures your messages land in the inbox, not the junk folder, and protects your brand from being impersonated.

Step 1: Find Your DNS Records in Qomon

  1. Log in to Qomon.

  2. Navigate to your Space Settings > Communications tab.

  3. Locate the list of DNS records (Brevo Code, DKIM, and DMARC) generated for your domain.

  4. Keep this page open—you will need to copy each record!

Step 2: Add the DNS Records to Your Domain Host

  1. Log in to your domain host (e.g., GoDaddy, OVH, Cloudflare).

  2. Access the DNS Management, Zone Editor, or equivalent area.

  3. Add each of the following records:

2a. Brevo Code Record (TXT)

This TXT record validates domain ownership.

  • Type: TXT

  • Host/Name: Use the Host value from Qomon (often @ or blank).

  • Value/Content: The unique Brevo code shown on your Qomon dashboard.

2b. DKIM Record(s) (TXT)

Brevo may provide one or two DKIM keys. Add each as a TXT record.

  • Type: TXT

  • Host/Name: As listed on your Qomon dashboard (e.g., mail._domainkey).

  • Value/Content: The long DKIM key from Qomon.

Note: Some registrars limit TXT record length. If you encounter errors, split the DKIM value as per your provider's guidelines.

2c. DMARC Record (TXT)

This helps receiving mail servers decide what to do with unauthorized emails.

  • Type: TXT

  • Host/Name: _dmarc

  • Value/Content: Your DMARC value from Qomon, typically:
    v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:[email protected]

Step 3: Verify Your Domain in Qomon

Once you’ve added all the DNS records:

  1. Return to the DNS Authentication page on Qomon.

  2. Click "Verify" or "Authenticate."

  3. Qomon will check your DNS configuration.

    • ✅ If successful, you’ll see "Authenticated."

    • ❌ If it fails, remember that DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate. Try verifying again later.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Check for typos: Make sure all Host and Value entries are copied correctly.

  • Cloudflare users: Disable the proxy (orange cloud) and set records to "DNS Only."

  • Wait for propagation: DNS changes are not always instant.
