Good to know 💡: Only administrators can import CSV files or XLS.
You can import your contacts file directly to your Qomon web platform.
You can do this from your contact database or from the settings of your space:
Click People database > Import
Click Space Settings > Imports > Import
Import contacts from a file in only 5 steps:
Step 1: Select the file you want to import
In this step, select the file you want to import.
Step 2: Configure your file settings
The system has received your file, now it needs a little help to import it correctly. 😉
You must indicate :
What is the type of separator: a comma? a semicolon?
Use the preview below, it allows you to see the changes and choose the right type of separator.
For example, if you select the wrong type of separator, you will see your contacts displayed in "raw data" whereas if the type of separator is the correct one your contacts will be displayed in columns.
If your file contains a header:
In the preview, you can see if your file contains a header or not (it's often line n°1).
When you indicate that your file contains a header, it will not be imported as a contact but it will be very useful for the rest of the import.
It will appear in bold in the preview. 😉
Step 3: Match the columns in your file with the Qomon contact properties.
This step is very important so take your time.
You need to select Qomon contact properties for each column of your file.
You can also choose "not to import" some columns from your file.
Step 4: Preview some of the contacts you will be importing
This step shows you an overview of the contacts you are going to import.
This allows you to check that everything is OK and that the correct contact properties have been selected.
If you think you have made a mistake, simply click Back in the top left corner of your screen to make changes.
Step 5: Give your import a name
Lastly, give your import a name. This will help you to find your way through your multiple imports.
And that's it! 👍
Once the import is complete, you will receive an email with a report. You will be able to know:
the number of imported contacts
the number of potential duplicates to be processed
the number of contacts that could not be imported (Errors)
