Managing Consents

When importing contacts into Qomon, you may already have consent information from other lists or sources. Managing these consents properly ensures compliance and effective communication with your audience.

📌 If you haven't already checked out our article on how to import your contact list, read here!

⚠️ Ask your account manager to activate the "consent import" feature if this has not been done yet.

📋 How to Import Consents

You can include consent details as part of your contact import by adding relevant columns in your import file:

  • Email Consent (e.g., opted in to receive emails)

  • Phone/SMS Consent (e.g., agreed to be contacted by phone)

  • General Contact Consent (e.g., permission to be contacted for outreach)

Use the following value in your file to indicate consent status for Opt-in: the value "Yes" in a "Consent" header column.

During the import process, select "Consent" when asked “What type of data do you want to import?”:

Then, match your file columns to the appropriate consent fields in Qomon:

  • Contact gave consent to receive email communication

  • Contact gave consent to receive mobile communication

  • Contact has given explicit consent for their personal data to be processed

✅ Before confirming the import, double-check the preview screen to ensure consents are matched correctly.

🔏 Best Practices

  • Maintain records of how and when consents were obtained.

  • Regularly update consents to reflect any changes in permissions.

  • Respect user preferences by ensuring only opted-in contacts receive outreach.
