Contact files in Qomon

💡 Important: Only administrators can import CSV or XLS files.

You can import your contact files directly into your Qomon web platform, either from your contact database or from the Imports/Exports tab:

  1. Click Contacts > Add/Import contacts > Import contacts

  2. Click Imports/Exports > + Import a file

Step 1: Select the file you want to import

Before you begin the import process, ensure your file is ready. If you're unsure how to format your file, you can refer to our ready to use import templates:

The image shows the Imports/Exports tab on Qomon:

Step 2: Configure your file settings

Once our system receives your file, you’ll need to specify the following:

  • What type of file/separator are you using?
Does your file use a comma, semicolon, or another separator? You can also specify whether it’s an .xls or .csv file.

    • If you choose the wrong separator, your contacts will display as "raw data." If correct, they will display in columns.

  • Does your file contain a header?
The preview will indicate whether your file contains a header (usually the first row). If you select "Yes," the header will not be imported as a contact but will help guide you through the import process. It will appear in bold in the preview.

  • Your import title?

Give your import a unique name. This will make it easier for you to identify when you have multiple imports.

Step 3: Match your file columns with Qomon contact properties

This step is crucial, so take your time!

You need to map each column in your file to the corresponding contact property in Qomon. If a column isn’t relevant, you can choose "Do not import" to skip it.

💡 Tip: Match with AI to quickly link each file name with a contact property in Qomon.

You can also import data into the custom fields you’ve created. Learn more about importing custom fields here.

Step 4: Preview your contacts before importing

This step provides a final overview of your import before you initiate it.

Check that everything looks correct and that the right contact properties were selected. If you notice any mistakes, simply click Back (top left corner) to make adjustments.

👍 And you're all done!

You’ve successfully launched your import! You’ll receive an email notification once the import is complete. The email will include:

  • The number of imported contacts

  • The number of potential duplicates to review (see how to manage duplicates here)

  • The number of contacts that couldn’t be imported due to an error (FAQ's on imports)
