Duplicating Actions
If you're planning a new action that's similar to one you've already set up, you don't need to build it from scratch. Duplicating lets you reuse the details from an existing action and adjust only what's changed, which is useful for a repeat phone bank against the same list, or an event series like monthly meetings or fundraisers.
💻 How to duplicate an action
Go to the action you want to copy.
Click the three dots.
Select Duplicate.
Your new action is created. Edit it as needed, then save.
This works for all action types.
🏘️ Canvassing, Phoning, and Lit Drops
Your contact selection is copied over automatically, so you don't have to rebuild your list each time. Note that the contact list itself cannot be edited after duplicating. You can narrow it further with a turf cut, but you cannot add or swap in different contacts. If you need a different contact list entirely, create a new action instead of duplicating.
From there, you can:
Edit the description and other action details
Turf cut to narrow the contact list for the new action
📋 All Other Actions
All information from the original action is copied over. This is handy for things like a recurring town hall or a repeat fundraiser, where most of the details stay the same.
Edit any fields as needed, such as the date, title, or description.
