Key Resources

Check out these guides to get started:

Integration steps

1️⃣ Import existing NationBuilder contacts to Qomon

  • Export your NationBuilder contact list, ensuring it includes the NationBuilder ID for each contact. Be sure to include all other information you'd like imported/available on Qomon (First name, last name, email, etc.).

  • Format the exported file for import to Qomon [Read here for import templates].

  • Import the file into Qomon, linking the NationBuilder ID column to "NationBuilder ID" in Qomon.

Note: If you have custom fields on NB that you'd like synched with Qomon, please create the custom field in Qomon and then please reach out to your account manager.

2️⃣ Install Qomon in NationBuilder

  • Go to your NationBuilder control panel:
Settings > App > Add New App.

  • Search for “Qomon” and click Install.

3️⃣ Connect NationBuilder to Qomon

  • In your Qomon account:
    Settings > Integrations & API.

  • Toggle on the integration and input your nation name.

  • You’ll be redirected to NationBuilder to authenticate.

🎉 Congratulations! Your platforms are now connected.

🔑 Why the NationBuilder ID matters for imports?

The NationBuilder ID is the primary key that links a contact record between Qomon and NationBuilder. Qomon has a dedicated "NationBuilder ID" field specifically for this purpose.

Because of this, if you're importing a voter file (or any other contact file) and want it to sync correctly with NationBuilder, we recommend the following order:

  1. Import your file into NationBuilder first. This generates a unique NationBuilder ID for each contact.

  2. Export your contacts from NationBuilder, now including their NationBuilder ID.

  3. Import that file into Qomon, making sure to map the NationBuilder ID field during import.

This way, every contact in Qomon is properly linked to its NationBuilder record from the start, and any updates made in Qomon will sync back to the correct contact in NationBuilder using that ID.

⚠️ If importing directly into Qomon without a NationBuilder ID may still work, those contacts won't be linked to NationBuilder until a match is found (e.g., via email or phone), which can lead to duplicates or sync issues.

For organizations with multiple Qomon spaces

If you have multiple Qomon spaces but only one NationBuilder nation:

  • Use filters to direct contacts from NationBuilder to specific Qomon spaces (e.g., by postcode or city).

  • Filters can also be set using “starts with” rules (e.g., all postcodes starting with "75").

Want to set filters up? Contact our support team before integrating!

📝 Note: Synchronizations begin after integration and are not retroactive.
