Prompts to try with the Qomon MCP

After connecting your AI assistant to your Qomon space, here are some examples of prompts you can use.

Written by Hendrik Giesecke

MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets you connect your Qomon space directly to an AI assistant. Once connected, you can ask Claude or ChatGPT questions about your contacts, actions, fundraising data, and more - using live information from your workspace, not static exports.

Once you've connected your AI assistant to Qomon, you can manage your contacts, actions, and donations just by asking. This article collects example prompts organized by role, so you can find ones that match what you're trying to do.

💡 Before you start: what you can do depends on your AI assistant, not your Qomon subscription.

  • Claude can search, segment, report, and make changes (create contacts, add tags, log donations).

  • ChatGPT can search, segment, and report on any plan, but making changes currently requires a ChatGPT Business or Enterprise plan.

  • Custom assistants built on the Qomon API have whatever read/write access is configured for their API key. See the developer page to get started.

📚 Example of prompts to use depending on your use case

Search and segment contacts

Use these to find and filter contacts by tag, location, or support level.

  • "Find all contacts tagged 'volunteer' in [Location] with an email address."

  • "Find all my contacts that have the tag '[Tag Name]' and classify them from biggest supporter to lowest supporter."

  • "Show me every contact in [area] with no email or phone information."

  • "Which of my contacts are marked as undecided but have attended at least one event?"

  • "Build me a list of contacts who were added in the last 90 days and haven't been contacted yet."

  • "Build me a walk list of 50 '[Tag Name]' contacts closest to [Address], sorted by support level."

Analyze your actions

Use these to check participation, status, and history across canvassing, calls, and events.

  • "List my last 10 canvassing actions and their participation rates."

  • "How many doors have we knocked in [area] this week, and what's our contact rate?"

  • "Show me contacts who were canvassed in the last action but marked 'come back later'"

  • "How many actions have we made this year and what was the volunteer turnout?"

Browse donations and transactions

  • "Show me all donations above X amount from the last 30 days."

  • "Show me all the donations made by [Contact Name]."

  • "Put together a table showing my biggest donors."

  • "Show me the donors who made at least one donation in a previous year but haven't donated yet this year."

  • "What's our average donation size this quarter compared to last quarter?"

Operations: query your team and org structure

  • "Who are the most active users in my organization?"

  • "Which team members have been assigned the most canvassing actions this month?"

  • "List all users who haven't logged an action in the last 30 days."

  • "Show me which volunteers are linked to which team or local group."

  • "Show me the volunteers who are not in any teams"

Data entry: create or update contacts from a conversation

  • "Create a new contact: [Contact Name], [Email address], [Location]."

  • "Update [Contact Name]'s phone number to [Phone Number]."

  • "Add the tag '[Tag Name]' and Support level [Support level name] to [Contact Name], keeping their existing tags."

  • "Log a new donation of [Amount] from [Contact Name] dated [Date]."

  • "Mark [Contact Name] as 'Do Not Contact.'"

Reporting: cross-reference contacts, actions, and donations

  • "How many contacts attended an action in [Location] this year?"

  • "Summarize this month's new supporters, donors, and volunteers in one table."

  • "Compare donation totals and contact growth between this quarter and last quarter."

  • "How many contacts did we add to the database this week, and show me their support level?"

  • "Which supporters have both attended an event and made a donation in the last six months?"

💡 Tips for your prompts

  • Be as precise as possible. When asking for information, use the actual "Qomon fields" and information. For example, when asking for your "biggest supporter," mention the fields to consider like Support Level and/or Tag.

  • Ask for existing tags to be preserved. When tagging a list of contacts, add "keep their existing tags" so nothing gets overwritten.

  • Chain your prompts. Segment a list, then ask for contact details, then ask for a tag to be applied, all in the same conversation.

  • Review before bulk actions. For anything that updates many contacts at once, ask your assistant to show you the list first, then confirm before applying changes. On read-only plans, this happens automatically.
