Why are errors appearing in my email reports on Qomon?

🔍 Where do I find my email reports?

Email reports can be found in the 'Communications' tab in the menu to the left and then under the page 'Reports' found at the top of the screen.

📧 What does it mean when an email bounces?

An email bounce indicates that the email could not be delivered due to either permanent or temporary issues. Our email provider attempts delivery for up to 48 hours before marking an email as bounced.

Account Problem:

The recipient’s mailbox is full or inactive. Emails may be retried automatically.

Suppressed:

The email address has a blocked status on your account.

DNS Problem:

The domain part of the email address does not exist.

Grey Listed: The email is temporarily rejected by the recipient server due to unfamiliar configuration. Rescheduled automatically.

Time Out:

Email delivery failed due to a timeout. These emails are rescheduled automatically.

No Mailbox:

The email address does not exist, resulting in a permanent invalid status.

Spam:

The email was rejected as it matched a spam profile.

Poor Reputation:

Email bounced due to the poor reputation of the sending IP address. A Private IP may help.

Whitelisting Problem:

The recipient server requires IP whitelisting. Contact Customer Success Team for assistance. Rescheduled automatically.

Unknown Soft:

Unspecified error. Contact Customer Support Team for details. Rescheduled automatically.

SPF Problem:

Issue with the SPF record validation for the domain. Emails are rescheduled automatically.

Connection Terminated:

Connection was terminated by the recipient server without a status. Generally considered bounced. Not rescheduled.

Manual Cancel:

The email was canceled by our email provider or manually. Not rescheduled.

Throttled:

Email not accepted within 48 hours: receiving server slows down the email send, waits to accept more, or stops emails all together.

Code Error:

An issue with the email sent by Elastic Email’s system. These emails are rescheduled automatically.

🤔 What can I do if my email report has errors?

Depending on which error your email has recieved, you have multiple options to try and lower the rate of errors.

  1. Ensure that those you are sending to are contacts that have subscribed to receive your emails.

  2. Verify that the emails you are sending to exist.

  3. Once your DNS is configured, send your emails out in low batches to grow a good reputation for your domain.
