What is an Action Flow?

An Action Flow in Qomon is a simple automation tool that allows you to connect a trigger (a form submission, petition signature, or event RSVP) with an action (sending an email).

When a contact submits a form, signs a petition, or RSVPs to an event, the Action Flow automatically sends them an email - no manual follow-up needed.

This is especially useful for:

  • Sending confirmation or thank-you emails

  • Triggering follow-up actions after signups

  • Welcoming volunteers or petition signers

🛠️ How to create an Action Flow

  1. Go to the Action Flows Tab: Head to Engage > Action Flows, then click “Create an Action Flow.”

  2. Choose the trigger type: Decide whether the workflow should start when someone fills out a form, signs a petition, or RSVPs to an event.

  3. Select your trigger: Pick from your existing forms, petitions, or events.

✅ Make sure it’s already created and published.

  4. Set the email action: Choose to create a new email template or select an existing template used in a previous flow.

  5. Activate your workflow: Give your flow a name and click Activate.
You’re done - your automation is now live!

⚙️ Default and Dedicated Action Flows

When creating an Action Flow, you can choose between a Default Flow or a Dedicated Flow.

A Default Flow applies to all actions of a selected trigger type (for example, all form submissions). A Dedicated Flow applies only to a specific form, petition, or event that you select.

  • Dedicated Flows override the Default Flow for that specific form, petition, or event.

  • If one or more Dedicated Flows exist for the same trigger, only those will run - the Default Flow will not.

  • If multiple Dedicated Flows are set up for the same form, petition, or event, they will run sequentially (one email will be sent after the other).

  • You can create only one Default Flow per trigger type (one for forms, one for petitions, and one for events).
